Growing up in Switzerland, Rouven was trained in the English riding discipline and vaulting from a young age. He later wrangled pack and saddle horses for the Swiss military and earned certification as a therapeutic riding instructor for disabled children and adults. He also became certified through the EAHAE International Association for Horse Assisted Education, utilizing equine-assisted learning programs to help individuals and corporate teams develop valuable life and professional skills through structured activities with horses.

Rouven’s career took an exciting turn when he became a featured equine act in a Swiss circus, and he further honed his skills by studying under Monty Roberts. His first encounter with mustangs ignited a lifelong passion for these wild horses, which was evident when he competed in the 2011 Extreme Mustang Makeover in Norco, California, where he adopted the mustang he trained. Rouven’s passion for equine training has led him to conduct workshops across Europe and Asia, educating fellow equestrians.

After a brief hiatus to pursue a degree in Business Administration, Rouven returned to his equine roots, focusing on working with mustangs at his ranch in Oak Creek, Colorado. One of his most cherished experiences was mentoring Jakob, a twelve-year-old, to compete in the 2023 Meeker Mustang Makeover youth division.

Rouven's  passion for horses, especially mustangs, drives his mission to inspire others, foster deep connections between humans and animals, and showcase the transformative power of equine relationships.
